Gabriela
Moreno (12A) was a part of the contribution to the Breast Cancer Association by
creating a t-shirt logo that was sold in school.
Bell’s
volleyball teams were in charge of making the shirts and selling them around
campus. “Students and staff were
able to contribute to the association by paying $10 for a t-shirt,” said a
member of the girl’s volleyball team.
“I
enjoy doing this for such a good cause,” said Gabriela, “I wanted the shirts to
be black so boys wouldn’t feel left out and participate in helping the breast cancer
cause.”
In
total both volleyball teams were able to raise $1,000 dollars for themselves,
and $1,000 to donate to the association.
My news story was fun to do and gather the information for. It was a little embarrassing to interview people, but i'm sure I'll get use to it. I support breast cancer awareness because I believe people with cancer should be helped and recognized for their hardships. I don't think its the best news story but i thought people should be aware that there are people struggling to survive and that life is something worthwhile.
